Wind advisory Tuesday morning for most of CNY

UPDATED at 8:03 AM Tuesday.

A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for the following counties:
--Oneida, Madison, Chenango, & Otsego countes until 12:00 PM Tuesday.
--Herkimer county until 6:00 PM Tuesday.

A WIND ADVISORY means that sustained winds of 30 mph and/or wind gusts of 45 mph are expected. This could cause some minor damage to trees, power lines and very weak structures.

Most of our area should receive southerly winds sustained wind of 15-25MPH today with gusts to 30-40 MPH through Tuesday morning.

If your area has a wind advisory, here is what you should do:

-- Secure loose objects outside.
-- Keep a firm grip on the wheel of your vehicle, especially high profile vehicles.
