Your wake up forecast for Election Day November 7

Good morning! Here is a look at your wake up forecast:

Morning temperatures:
Most of our area will have temperatures 34 to 38 through 8 AM. There will be a few spots that are a bit colder across the countryside. Temperatures will only meander slightly higher into the upper 30s to near 40 by the end of the morning.

Morning wind chills:
The real feel temperature will be between 30 and 35.

Morning sky condition & precipitation:
Cloud coverage will have some breaks of sunshine possible. However, new cloud coverage will increase. A touch of light snow will make its way across the southern Finger Lakes and southern tier most often and longest later this morning. This light snow may get as far north as the Thruway corridor. You can track precipitation by clicking on Interactive Doppler Radar to zoom in anywhere and on Live Triple Doppler Radar to see where it is raining.

What should I wear outside?:
You and your kids can wear a jacket and fleece today.

Any notable driving condition issues?:
None. Most areas who get light snow should see it mainly melt. However, portions of the southern tier higher elevations may get a coating or so of snow especially on lawns, trees and cars.

Afternoon plans:
Leftover light snow will taper off from north to south through the afternoon with the far southern tier of New York seeing the light snow tapering off last towards sunset. Some intervals of sunshine will be possible for central New York. There should be more in the way filtered sunshine for areas further northward. Afternoon high temperatures will be about 10 degrees below normal. Expect highs in the lower 40s for most of CNY, but upper 30s both north and south. Wind chills should be in the middle to upper 30s. The normal high today for Syracuse is 52. Wind: N 3-9 MPH.
