Your wake up forecast for Friday August 11
Good morning! Here is a look at your wake up forecast:
Most of our area will have temperatures 58 and 66 through 8 AM. However, the coolest countryside will be between 54 and 62. Look for temperatures to rise slightly through 11 AM.
Morning sky condition & precipitation:
A pretty sunrise is possible this morning over portions of northern and central New York. Start watching before sunrise at 6:06 AM. Otherwise, I am tracking an area of thicker cloud coverage over the southern tier moving into central New York between 4:30 AM and 8 AM. Some of these thicker clouds will contain some showers or sprinkles these will move northeastward into and out of central New York later this morning. You can track precipitation by clicking on Interactive Doppler Radar to zoom in anywhere and on Live Triple Doppler Radar to see where it is raining.
What should I wear outside?:
You and your kids can wear shorts and t-shirts. However, it is your decision on what you and your children should wear.
Any notable driving condition issues?:
Expect a mixture of clouds and sunshine. A random widely isolated shower or thundershower may pop up in a couple of spots. However, by 5 PM, an area of scattered showers and thunderstorms will be threatening sections of western New York and the Finger Lakes region. At and after 5 PM and through this evening, we will need to keep an eye for scattered showers or thunderstorms as they move eastbound potentially over portions of CNY, including potentially the Syracuse area. Afternoon highs should range between 78 and 83 for most of our area. Normal high for Syracuse is 81. Wind: S 7-15 MPH with gusts to 20 MPH. To track any precipitation, click on Interactive Doppler Radar to zoom in anywhere and on Live Triple Doppler Radar to see where it is raining.
