Conversation with candidates for Mayor: Matt's Memo
The end of the administration of Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner is nearly here. She finishes up her eight years on New Year's Eve. There is a crowded field fighting to take her office in City Hall. A Republican, an independent and a faithful leader of the Green Party. Plus, three Democrats who are battling it out for votes on Primary Day next Tuesday.
Six days before the Primary we have invited the three Democrats to talk to us here at CNYCentral, NBC 3 and CBS 5. We begin our Conversation with the Candidates Wednesday afternoon. We will be utilizing Facebook Live on our CNYCentral.com Facebook page and our 5 pm broadcasts. We will talk with attorney Juanita Perez Williams, City Auditor Marty Masterpole and Syracuse Common Councilor Joe Nicoletti.
Here is the schedule so you can pay close attention.
Wednesday, September 6th: Juanita Perez Williams
Thursday, September 7th: Marty Masterpole
Friday, September 8th: Joe Nicoletti
Each candidate will have a Facebook Live chat with one of our anchors from 4:15 pm to 4:30 pm. Then they will appear on both NBC 3 and CBS 5 for interviews during our live news broadcasts.
This format should allow voters to get a more in depth sampling of the views and thoughts of each candidate before heading to the polls in Syracuse next Tuesday. The Facebook Live opportunity will also include comments and questions from people watching and posting during the session.
