How-to on Urban Gardening this Wednesday
If you've ever wanted to grow your own vegetables, and maybe some fruit, too, check out Syracuse Grow's annual meeting this Thursday evening.
The not-for-profit will hold a seed swap at the event, at Syracuse's Dunbar Center, on Wednesday evening, 6 to 8pm.
Sarah Brown, with Syracuse Grows, says the volunteer group is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It oversees several community gardening projects in Syracuse, in addition to providing advice and helping make the gardening possible by providing fertilizer and how-to advice, and loaning gardening implements like shovels and rakes to would-be gardeners.
Attending Thursday's meeting is free. On April 21, Syracuse Grows holds its Resource Drive. To find a community garden near you, and for more information: www.syracusegrows.org
