Thanksgiving Week is coming up, and there's more going on than feasting! Take a look at some of the stories and events the CNYCentral News Team is watching for you:

A pair of high publicity cases due in court on Monday. Anthony Saccone's sentencing may happen, depending on a judge's ruling.

And in federal court Charlie Tan--the former Cornell student is scheduled for sentencing on firearms charges, related to the illegal purchase of the shotgun that killed his father.

Also Monday, the state's Canal Recreationway Commission meets in Baldwinsville, with expanding canal trails' use one topic.

Syracuse's Gingerbread Gallery opens on monday...at the Erie Canal Museum. The displays are up til January 6th.

And Monday evening, the Buy Local Bash--vendors and samples at the CNY Regional Market F Shed.

Tuesday, Manlius Police Sargent Ken Hatter is scheduled to get his bone marrow transplant, after finding almost perfect match.

Thursday---Thanksgiving Day. The Syracuse Rescue Mission will serve hundreds of dinners ...many delivered around the community by volunteers.

It's also the day for turkey trots...the Baldwinsville Kiwanis, Schiller Park and Onondaga Lake Park among places for walks and runs.

Friday---Black Friday---area stores offering seasonal deals...shoppers out early and all day.

Greek Peak Ski Area opens for the season

In Skaneateles, Dickens Christmas begins its 25th year with the world's smallest Christmas Parade...the holiday street festival continues Saturdays and Sundays til Christmas.

The Clinton Square tree is lit Friday evening in a giant downtown Syracuse open house.

Saturday is family train day at Drivers Village in Cicero..the displays are free.

Local favorites, Fritz's Polka Band, will be in Cleveland to see if the 40 year old band and several band members are inducted into the Polka Hall of Fame.

And, another sign of the season...the Rescue Mission's Ugly Sweater Run at Onondaga Lake Park, Saturday afternoon.
