Bud Light to include ingredients on cans
ST. LOUIS, Missouri —
Bud Light is making changes to its packaging. Starting in February, the company will list its ingredients right on the can.
The words “hops, barley, water and rice” will be written on the cans, as well as added to the serving information on packaging.
Alcohol producers are currently not required to list ingredients, but company leaders say they believe consumers deserve to know what’s in their beer.
“When people walk through a store, they are used to seeing ingredient labels on products in every aisle, except for the beer, wine and spirits aisle,” said Andy Goeler Bud Light VP of Marketing. “As the lead brand in the category, we believe increasing on-pack transparency will benefit the entire beer category and provide our consumers with the information they expect to see.”
Bud Light is releasing two new commercials to highlight the label announcement. Watch them below.
