Hot Tubs, the Sharks and the Jets: Dino Babers previews Boston College
Dino Babers started his weekly press conference with an update on Eric Dungey, saying he's unsure if he's able to play.
When pressed, or asked for more specifics on Dungey's status?
Babers was about as specific as he could get: They talked about it in a hot tub.
In reality, perhaps it's telling that Dungey was able to do something like get in or out of a hot tub. After the game at Yankee Stadium Saturday he could hardly walk in the tunnel.
Babers says regardless, there's been "positive things and negative things" on Tommy DeVito's performance, clearly though he can lead the Orange to victory if his number is called.
Obviously, it's a monumental game with a reeling Boston College team on Saturday.
At the very least, a 10-win season (including the bowl) stays on the table with the win, the victor also clinches a 2nd place finish in the ACC Atlantic.
Not bad for a team picked to finish last.
Still, there are bowl implications on the line, the Orange could elevate from a probable Pinstripe Bowl bid to the next tier, the Camping World Bowl with a win.
I asked Coach Babers about those bowl implications.
He isn't feeling that one bit.
The Eagles are 7.5 point favorite over the Orange for the regular season finale at noon in Chestnut Hill, MA.
The game will be televised by ESPN.
