After 11 national championships, including the last two, Onondaga Community College Lacrosse Coach Chuck Wilbur is ready for a new challenge.

Wilbur, whom the field at OCC's lacrosse complex is named after, will assume a new role on campus in the athletics department.

The new role's title is "retention specialist", helping students excel on and off the field.

Chuck told me on the phone that in a lot of ways, it's a "dream job" to be able to remain at OCC, continue to help students, but also remain intertwined in the athletics dept.

Wilbur owns a 266-15 record as Lazers head coach.

OCC says that a national search for his replacement begins immediately, of course replacing someone they named the field after at just 41-years old, isn't something that comes easily.
