Marrone hires Brotzki as director of player development

Syracuse University head football coach Doug Marrone is reuniting former teammate Bob Brotzki and the University, hiring Brotzki as the director of football player development for the Orange.
Bob knows the direction and vision of the program, Marrone said. He knows what is expected and knows the tradition. He knows how to develop our players. He and I played together here at Syracuse under Coach MacPherson.
For the past two years Brotzki coached the tight ends for Robert Morris College. Prior to his collegiate coaching tenure, he was involved in his own business of dealing with land acquisition, timber buying and log processing for 13 years.
A 1985 graduate of Syracuse University, Brotzki played 45 consecutive games for the Orange at tight end and left tackle. During his four-year NFL career he played center, guard, tackle and tight end with the Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons.A 1981 graduate of St. Mary's Central Catholic High School in Sandusky, Ohio, Brotzki and his wife, Maria, have two sons, Jack and Nick.
