Next year's 'Cortaca Jug' will be played at MetLife Stadium, home of Giants & Jets
ITHACA N.Y. —
The "Biggest Little Game" in sports will get a big-time venue change in 2019.
The "Cortaca Jug," an annual Division III football match-up between SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey next year.
At a news conference Wednesday, the schools announced the venue change, as the two teams get ready to play this year's "Cortaca Jug" this weekend.
MetLife Stadium is home to the New York Giants and New York Jets.
The 60th annual "Cortaca Jug" starts at noon on Saturday at SUNY Cortland. Typically, the teams alternate hosting the game between Ithaca and Cortland.
The game typically draws 10,000 fans each year. They want to break the attendance record next year when the game is held at MetLife Stadium.
Tickets for the 2019 game at the home of the New York Giants and Jets go on sale December 1.
