Oswego State tops Nazareth in special game for Griffin's Guardians

Oswego State beat Nazareth College 3-0 on Tuesday night.

The reality is, everyone in attendance and so many in the cancer fight in Central New York are the real winners.

The game was played at the Skaneateles YMCA as part of a fundraiser for Griffin's Guardians.

Griffin's Guardians helps families in medical fights in any way they can. It was started by Erin Engle after her son Griffin passed away in 2014 after a fight with a rare form of brain cancer.

The matchup with Oswego and Nazareth features two coaches that know the fight all too well.

Oswego's Ed Gosek and Nazareth's George Roll both lost their wives to cancer in the last five years.

So, the fit was perfect for these two hockey powers to meet at a YMCA and help fund an incredibly worthy cause.

The Lakers scored a goal in each period thanks to Michael Gillespie, Joseph Molinaro and Josh Zizek.
