Strong second half pushes Syracuse over Texas Southern

The Syracuse Orange (3-0) shot 46% from the field in an 80-67 win against Texas Southern at the Carrier Dome Saturday night.

Tyus Battle lead all scorers with 21 points, and Geno Thorpe found his rhythm scoring 13 of his own.

Oshae Brissett grabbed ten of the team's forty rebounds on the night as the Orange overpowered Texas Southern in the paint for most of the evening.

Texas Southern kept the game close at halftime, but the Syracuse offense executed more efficiently in the second half going on a 29-6 run.

Up next, the Orange welcome Oakland to the Carrier Dome on Monday night.
