The Syracuse Orange is set to clash with Kansas for just the sixth time in program history.

Next season the Syracuse men's basketball team will face the Kansas Jayhawks during the third annual Hoophall Miami Invitational on Dec. 2.

"We are excited to participate in the 2017 Hoophall Miami Invitational." Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said. "The opportunity to play a quality program like Kansas in Miami will be as strong a test as we could hope for our team."

The neutral court game will be a rematch of the 2003 NCAA National Championship where SU of course emerged victorious by a final score of 81-78. The last time these two teams met, former guard Jonny Flynn put up 25 points for the Orange in an 89-81 overtime win during the 2008 CBE Classic in Kansas City.

Both Syracuse and Kansas will host Oakland University, University of Toledo, and Texas Southern University on their campuses as a part of a multi-team event. The game between Syracuse and Kansas will be the culmination of that event.

The upcoming contest will take place at the American Airlines Arena and is part of a doubleheader which also includes Miami and Princeton.

Additionally, Syracuse already has games set at Georgetown, and reportedly against UConn at Madison Square Garden as part of the Jimmy V Classic.
