Syracuse Lacrosse retains Krauss-Simmons Trophy in win over Hobart

Syracuse Lacrosse celebrates with the Krauss-Simmons Trophy after beating Hobart 11-4 (Matt Hauswirth)

Syracuse Lacrosse typically has more talent, more wins and more NCAA Tournament prospects than does its neighbor the Hobart Statesmen.

But in a rivalry game with the Krauss-Simmons Trophy on the line, you can throw all of that out the window.

Indeed, Hobart did have a rally in them, turning an 8-1 deficit to just an 8-4 game by the time the 4th quarter rolled around at the Carrier Dome but in the end Syracuse stormed away 11-4.

With the win, the Orange is on a 3-game win streak with just three games remaining until the ACC Tournament.

Stephen Rehfuss scored three goals and dished out a couple assists, while Nate Solomon scored twice as well including a nifty underhand goal in the victory.

Liverpool-alum Dom Madonna made 9 saves and only allowed four goals.

Syracuse, currently ranked #8 in the nation, is off for the next week until it travels to Ithaca to take on Cornell next Tuesday.
