Clay native Patrick Corbin reportedly signs 6-year deal with Washington
The speculation up until now was that Patrick Corbin, the Cicero-North Syracuse grad, would sign with either the New York Yankees or Philadelphia Phillies.
That fell flat this afternoon.
Corbin reportedly is signing a 6-year deal with Washington, expected to pay him at least $20 million per season.
The Clay native was an all-star for Arizona in 2013 and 2018, widely regarded as the top starting pitcher on the free agent market.
Now, he's joining a top of the Nationals rotation which includes Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer.
Corbin finished the 2018 seaosn with an ERA of 3.15, a record of 11-7 on the season.
His career ERA is below 4 (3.91) over 154 career starts.
Corbin graciously gives back to Central New York charities whenever he's back home, including helping out at a celebrity bartending event for the local charity "On My Team 16" coming up on December 23.
