The International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota will be inducting six newcomers on Sunday.

On Thursday, the Opening Bell was rung, kicking off an eventful weekend in Canastota as the International Boxing Hall of Fame will be welcoming nine new inductees, six of which are still alive.

Heavyweight Vitali "Dr. Ironfist" Klitschko (45-2 41 KOs) and legendary sportscasters Jim Gray and Steve Albert are headlining the class of 2018 inductees with Ronald "Winky" Wright (51-6 25 KOs), Erik "El Terrible" Morales (52-9 36 KOs), and promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl rounding out the rest of the class. Sid Terris (91-13-5 12 KOs), announcer Johnny Addie, and promoter Lorraine Chargin are being inducted posthumously.

On Friday, there will be a "Ringside Lunch" at noon with Boxing Collectors Newsletter publisher Don Scott, with the SHOWTIME Talk with Hall of Fame inductees Jim Gray and Steve Albert following up on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Then on Sunday at 1 p.m., the parade will take place with Arizona Cardinals star receiver, Larry Fitzgerald, as the grand marshal.

The Induction Ceremony will follow at 2:30 p.m.

Executive Director of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Ed Brophy, is excited for the weekend and expects the attendance to be high.

"Every year here in Canastota, the Hall of Fame weekend seems to get bigger and better. This is the 29th annual induction and again it feels bigger and better. It's just an exciting day on opening day as we rang the bell to kick-off the Hall of Fame weekend," said Brophy.

Along with the events this weekend in Canastota, fights will be taking place on Friday at Turning Stone with Diego De La Hoya vs. Jose Salgado as the main event.

Tickets for the event start at $39.
