Onondaga C.C. men's lacrosse heads back to NJCAA Title Game, set to meet Nassau C.C.

The Lazers advanced to the NJCAA National Championship Game after Saturday's 23-12 trouncing of Howard C.C.

The Onondaga Community College men's lacrosse team is headed back to the NJCAA National Championship Game.

The Lazers took care of Howard Community College, their opponent in last year's National Championship Game, 23-12.

Onondaga raced out to an early 6-0 lead and never looked back, keeping the Dragons at bay throughout.

The Lazers are seeking their 11th National Championship in program history, and their second straight.

"We started off fast," Lazers head coach Chuck Wilbur said following Saturday's win. "That was the biggest thing, was getting out quickly, and we did. [We had] to settle down. We had a couple bonehead plays, but you have to give credit to Howard. They're a very talented group. Overall it was a good performance from us. We wanted to make sure we started quickly and we had to kind of slow the game down at the end to try to make sure we get in this game a little faster."

Onondaga will meet Nassau Community College in the NJCAA National Championship Game on Sunday, May 13 at 1 p.m. from Charles R. Wilbur Field on OCC's campus.
