Baldwinsville falls in baseball title game, Sandy Creek and F-P drop softball state semis

The Baldwinsville baseball team came up short at the hands of Massapequa in the Class AA State Championship Game on Saturday.

Section III was also well-represented on the diamond Saturday, as one baseball and two softball teams competed for New York State Championships.

In Class AA, the Baldwinsville Bees met Massapequa out of Long Island, but came up short, 10-1, from Binghamton University.

After taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, the Bees surrendered five runs in the bottom frame, failing to score a single run from there on out.


The high school softball state tournament continued from Moreau Recereational Park in Fort Edward, New York on Saturday, featuring a pair of Section III teams.

In Class C, Sandy Creek came up short to Pine Plains in the state semifinals, 3-2.

Meanwhile in Class D, Fabius-Pompey lost to Fort Ann, 5-2, in 10 innings.
