Bishop Ludden, Jamesville-DeWitt earn Sectional Championships in girls basketball

The Bishop Ludden girls basketball team celebrates its Class B, Sectional Championship following Saturday's win over South Jefferson.

Section III has two more Sectional Champions as of Saturday night.

The Bishop Ludden and Jamesville-DeWitt girls basketball teams were victorious in their respective Sectional Championship games from the Carrier Dome.

In the early game, the Gaelic Knights took down South Jefferson after trailing by three at the half.

Danielle Rauch, a University of Michigan signee, led all scorers with 19 points on the night.

Rauch scored 10 straight points in the third quarter, putting away South Jefferson in the process.

In the late game, Jamesville-DeWitt took care of Indian River, proving to be too deep for the Warriors.

Jamie Boeheim notched a team-high 21 points en route to the Red Rams seventh consecutive Sectional Championship.
