Bishop Ludden outlasts S.A.S. in boys hoops, Skaneateles wins again in girls ice hockey

Bishop Ludden senior guard Nic Button (1) recorded a team-high 19 points in the Gaelic Knights win over S.A.S. on Monday night.

The Bishop Ludden boys basketball team picked up even more momentum after a close win over Syracuse Academy of Science on Monday night, 70-67.

Gaelic Knights senior guard Nic Button led the way for the road team with 19 points, including 15 points from Vernell Reid.

Bishop Ludden improves to 6-3 overall with the win, and will next meet Rochester Aquinas on Saturday.


The Skaneateles girls ice hockey team is once again one of the top programs in New York State, improving to 9-1 overall after Monday night's 6-3 win over Oswego.

The Buccaneers scored first, as Rosie Wallace found the back of the net on a 2-on-1 opportunity.

However, from there, Lakers star senior Megan Teachout recorded five total points, including a hat trick and a pair of assists.

Skaneateles will next host Ithaca on Wednesday night.
