CBA tops LaFayette in season opener

CBA boys lacrosse had a flair for the dramatic on Wednesday night.

On a cold rainy evening, The Brothers outlasted visiting LaFayette 15-14, securing their first win in the season opener for both teams.

Behind five goals from junior Augustus Bonacci, CBA (1-0) held off a furious rally by The Lancers in the second half. Ian Evans and Devon Buckshot scored three goals each for LaFayette (0-1).

The Lancers took a 10-9 lead after an Evan Spratt goal in the second half, but CBA pushed back scoring a fury of goals led by Bonacci. Ben McCreary and Lincoln McGarrity also scored three goals each for The Brothers.

Next up for CBA is home game vs. Tully Tuesday at 7 p.m. while LaFayette hosts Westhill on the same day at 4:30 p.m.
