Confirmed: Baldwinsville native Alex Tuch traded to expansion Las Vegas in NHL

Alex Tuch poses with Minnesota Wild officials after that team selected him in the NHL Draft, on Wednesday he was traded to the expansion Las Vegas Golden Knights

One Tweet in 2017 makes things official:

With that, the expansion Las Vegas Golden Knights of the NHL announced they acquired Baldwinsville native Alex Tuch in a trade with the Minnesota Wild.

The Wild received draft picks and avoided other players being selected by the Knights as part of the deal.

Tuch was a 1st round selection of Minnesota in the 2014 NHL Draft, 17th overall. He was selected as a 2017 AHL All-Star while playing for the Iowa Wild.

Alex is a Baldwinsville native, and is known to skate at the Lysander Ice Rink in his return trips to Central New York.

Undoubtedly, the selection of Tuch is a coup for Vegas, getting a 6'3" forward who is only 21 years old with an incredibly bright future ahead.

Elsewhere in the expansion draft, The Golden Knights selected former Syracuse Crunch players Marc Methot and Jonathan Marchusseault.

The current Syracuse Crunch roster was left untouched.
