ESM falls to No. 1 Victor in New York State Semifinals

ESM falls to Victor 18-3 in state semifinal

The ESM Spartans took on the No. 1 Victor Blue Devils in the Class B New York State Semifinal at Cicero-North Syracuse High School on Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately for the Spartans, the game went Victor's way right in the first possession when goalie Chayse Ierlan fired in a goal to open the scoring in what would be an 18-3 victory for the Blue Devils.

ESM's Daniel Boland had two goals and Timothy Crouse chipped in with a goal in the effort for the Spartans. Camden Hay had four goals and Connor Keenan scored three of his own to lead the way for Victor.

The Spartans finish the season 16-4. For Coach Jon McCoy it was an emotional loss.

"We've got a group of seniors that mean a lot to this program and it's hard to say good-bye. Well, let me say 'See you later' because they're always welcome back," Coach McCoy said.

Victor will take on Garden City from Section VIII in the Class B State Championship.
