From Baldwinsville to the NHL, Boo Nieves might be the next big star
There must be something in the water in Baldwinsville.
Consider that super-athletes Alex Bono (Toronto FC, MLS), Alex Tuch (Las Vegas Golden Knights, NHL), Scott Blewett (Kansas City Royals, MLB), Jason Grilli (MLB) all come from that community, now, they're joined on the big stage by another budding star.
Cristoval "Boo" Nieves saw his first significant NHL action in the 2017-2018 season with the New York Rangers.
Just two years out of school at Michigan, Nieves saw action in 28 games with New York, splitting time between there and the Rangers AHL affiliate in Hartford.
With the Rangers, he tallied his first career goal against the powerful Pittsburgh Penguins and dished out 8 assists.
At just 24, Boo appears poised to have an even more impactful role with the Rangers next season.
On Thursday, we'll be featuring the dynamic duo of CNY power prospects in Nieves and Tuch but for a sneak peak at our interview with Boo, click the video player!
