The Skaneateles girls ice hockey team came up short in overtime on Saturday.

The Skaneateles girls ice hockey team suffered from heartbreak in Buffalo Saturday night, falling in the New York State Championship Game.

The Lakers fell to Williamsville North, in overtime, 5-4.

The game was played from the Harbor Center in Buffalo.

Meg Teachout recorded a team-high two goals in the overtime loss, while Rachelle Cain and Campbell Torrey each tallied a goal apiece.

Skaneateles last won a state title in 2017, advancing to this year's championship game after shutting out Plattsburgh Friday night, 3-0.

The Lakers finish the year 14-3 overall.
