Peppino's Invitational Day 2: West Genesee, Henninger and Liverpool among the big winners

West Genesee sophomore point guard Will Amica walks off the floor following a 24-point performance in the Wildcats' win over CBA on Saturday.

The annual Peppino's Invitational continued on Saturday with games spanning from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Corcoran took down Utica Proctor in the early game, 55-53.

In the second game of the day, West Genesee managed to breeze past Christian Brothers Academy behind Will Amica's 24 points, 69-51.

Meanwhile in the third game, Fayetteville-Manlius concluded the two-day event with a 74-71 victory over Rome Free Academy.

After that, Westhill met Canton in a rematch of last year's Class B, New York State Championship game where the Warriors won it. On Saturday, it was a similar result, as Westhill got the win, 58-49.

Last year's Class AA, Section III champion, Liverpool, took the floor against Bishop Grimes in the fifth game of the day. The Warriors earned the lopsided, 79-47 win.

In the final game of the day, Bishop Ludden met Henninger in a battle of Section III's top teams. In the end, the Black Knights were able to hold off the Gaelic Knights, 63-59.
