Toyota Game of the Week: CNS stays undefeated, takes down Auburn
It was another packed house and a sea of blue at Bragman Stadium in Cicero for the week four match-up between CNS and Auburn.
After both teams exchanged touchdowns in the first quarter, it was the Northstars from CNS who pulled ahead with a touchdown run from fullback Kyle Cody giving CNS a 13-6 lead in the second quarter.
Auburn's running game behind senior Nasir Smith was strong for most of the night, but the Maroons just couldn't seem to get that break-through play.
However, Northstar sophomore quarterback Conner Hayes could. On a quarterback-keeper he burst out for a forty yard touchdown run.
The CNS faithful - the blue crew - brought the energy all night.
It was also another strong performance from the CNS defense. They held Auburn to just that first quarter touchdown.
Head Coach Dave Kline was happy with the win coming off what he says was a tough week.
"It was a tough week in practice. We bent a little but we didn't break and that was huge," said Cicero-North Syracuse Head Coach Dave Kline.
CNS remains unbeaten besting a feisty Auburn team 27-6 final. The Northstars head to Nottingham next Friday night and the Maroons will take on Baldwinsville.
