Buddy Boeheim breaks silence, verbally commits to Syracuse

Buddy Boeheim, the son of SU head coach Jim Boeheim, verbally committed to the Orange on Friday, for the 2018 season.

Buddy Boeheim has made his college decision.

Loud and clear.

The former Jamesville-DeWitt basketball star committed to play for his dad, Jim Boeheim, at Syracuse University in 2018.

Boeheim made the news official on his Twitter account, where he was also the subject of a short video, courtesy of, detailing his excitement to play for the Orange.

Boeheim, now a senior at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, broke the news via his Twitter account on Friday afternoon.

The former Red Ram averaged 26.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game during his junior season at J-D.

With the addition of Boeheim, the Orange now have two commitments for the 2018 class.

Alongside 5-star forward Darius Bazley (Cincinnati, Oh.), the class seems to be shaping into a nice one for Jim Boeheim.
