Dino Babers asks 'Cuse fans to stay after Friday's game for new 'senior walk' tradition

Syracuse head football coach Dino Babers addresses the media Monday ahead of this weekend's home game against Louisville.

The Syracuse University football team wants fans to stay at the Carrier Dome once Friday night's game wraps up, to take part in a new tradition for the team's graduating seniors.

No. 13 Syracuse plays Louisville Friday at 7 p.m. It's the team's final home game of the season and the seniors' final time playing in the Carrier Dome.

On Monday, Coach Babers said they are starting a new tradition called the "senior walk." After the game, the seniors will come back onto the field and take a walk around the Dome.

"If the fans want to hang around and share a memory with a senior or just be able to stand there and give them some applause for the type of career that they had, I think that would be really, really welcomed."

Babers hopes this turns into a yearly tradition.

"Playing in the Dome is not like a normal home venue, and I think the young men really do appreciate it," Babers added. "I think we can really start something special and can be talked about for years to come. "

No. 13 Syracuse (7-2, 4-2 ACC) is a 21-point favorite against Louisville (2-7, 0-6 ACC).
