Freshman quarterback Chance Amie announces intention to transfer out of Syracuse

Syracuse freshman quarterback Chance Amie will not be returning to the football program next season.

The true freshman announced his intention of transferring earlier Saturday afternoon, via Twitter.

Amie's decision to leave Syracuse leaves the Orange a bit thin at the quarterback position going into spring workouts in April.

Tommy DeVito has widely been rumored to become Eric Dungey's replacement as the starter next season after filling in admirably in his absence throughout the 2018 season.

Clayton Welch now moves into the backup role behind DeVito as the Orange look ahead to spring practices.
