National awards stacking up for Syracuse Football after Clemson win

Dino Babers has been front and center with the national media following Friday night's win over No. 2 Clemson.

After upsetting No. 2-ranked Clemson, the Syracuse Football team received a handful of awards, including being named the national team of the week by the Football Writers Association of America.

Junior quarterback Eric Dungey made the Davey O'Brien "Great Eight" list by throwing for 278 yards and three touchdowns. Dungey was also named the ACC Co-Offensive Back of the Week and received the Manning Award for the star of the week.

Other Syracuse players that made waves this weekend included senior wide receiver Ervin Phillips and linebacker Parris Bennett. Phillips was named ACC Co-Receiver of the Week with a touchdown and 94 receiving yards. On the defensive end, Bennett was the ACC Linebacker of the Week after leading the team with nine tackles.

The man who coordinated Syracuse's efforts, Dino Babers received the Dodd Coach Trophy of the week.
