SU Men's Soccer falls to No. 24 Akron, drops fifth of last six games

The SU men's soccer team dropped its fifth of its last six games on Monday night, falling to No. 24 Akron.

The Syracuse University men's soccer team is in the midst of a down season in 2017.

After advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament one season ago, the Orange now find themselves 5-5 overall on the year and barely inside the top 100 teams in the country.

However, the Orange had a terrific opportunity on Monday night, as the No. 24 Akron Zips paid a visit to the SU soccer stadium.

It was a scoreless game for most of the first half until Ezana Kahsay scored in the 34th minute to give the Zips a 1-0 lead.

After that, the Orange had several chances to score the game-tying goal but was turned away each time.

With the loss, SU drops to 5-5 overall and will host North Carolina State on Friday night at 7 p.m.
