Thanksgiving 2017: Syracuse Basketball players explain what they're thankful for

Syracuse sophomore guard Tyus Battle lists what he's thankful for following Monday night's game against Oakland.

The Syracuse University men's basketball team is off to a 5-0 start early in the 2017-18 season, entering the Thanksgiving holiday with plenty to be thankful for.

When some of the players were asked just that, they offered detailed responses.

"Man, I'm thankful for my family," Syracuse sophomore guard Tyus Battle said. "They've always been there for me every step of the way. My dad comes to almost every game. My teammates this year, they've been great. It's a great group of guys and I wouldn't have it any other way."

"I'm just thankful for the opportunity to play in a Dome like this," Orange freshman forward Oshae Brissett said with a smile. "I've always, growing up, wished to play in front of a big crowd. I'm thankful that the coaches believe in me and that I'm here to show my skills."

"I'm thankful for good health," SU junior guard Frank Howard explained. "And these guys in this locker room, just being able to do what I can everyday -- being free. I'm thankful for you all, man, putting me on this camera."

The Orange will return to action on Monday night when it hosts the Maryland Terrapins for a 7 p.m. kickoff. It will also be televised on ESPN2.
