Tyus Battle breaks silence, opts for 2018 NBA Draft but will not hire agent
Tyus Battle has broken his silence.
The sophomore guard has entered his name into the 2018 NBA Draft.
The Syracuse University men's basketball Twitter account broke the news Friday afternoon.
However, there's a silver lining in Battle's decision.
The Edison, New Jersey native will not hire an agent, leaving the door open to a possible return to Syracuse for his junior season.
It's been reported that Battle needed to make a decision regarding his NBA Draft status by 11:59 p.m. Sunday night.
With his focus now shifted toward the National Basketball Association, Battle will take part in the 2018 NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, Illinois, which goes from Wednesday, May 16 to Sunday, May 20.
It's in Chicago where potential pro prospects learn their fate from NBA scouts, explaining their draft stock along with the good and the bad regarding their respective skill set.
If Battle is to return to Syracuse, he has until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 to tell the Orange if he plans to return to college or hire an agent and begin his pro career.
Only time will tell.
