Deputies investigating deadly truck and pedestrian accident in Cicero

CNY Central

Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a deadly accident on Brewerton Road.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Department says a man suffered serious injuries this morning after being stuck by a truck while trying to cross Brewerton Road from the McDonald's Restaurant, near Hogan Drive.

The sheriff's office says the man was then taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving there. He has not yet been identified.

The Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Team was sent to the scene to reconstruct what happened. Brewerton Road between Hogan Drive and East Circle Drive was closed to all traffic for almost two hours as the investigation was conducted.

The sheriff's office says the driver of the truck, identified as a 20-year-old from Cicero, was not injured in the crash and is cooperating with deputies.

No tickets have been issued and the crash remains under investigation, deputies said.
