Conor Wight

Conor Wight joined the CNY Central Team in April 2020.

Conor is an alum of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, spending much of his time as a proud member of the school's all-student run news station CitrusTV. It was his favorite place to be on campus and where he fell in love with journalism, working as an anchor, producer and on-air reporter.

While he is a proud native of what he describes as the "great" state of New Jersey, Conor is overjoyed to be staying in Syracuse after graduating from S.U. He couldn't be happier to have the chance to continue experiencing the incredible things the city and the region have to offer. Starting his time as a journalist amidst the pandemic has highlighted the tenacity of the people of Central New York, and Conor couldn't be prouder to be part of this community. He feels it is a privilege to serve Central New York as a journalist.

In his spare time Conor is an avid soccer fan, throwing his support behind Everton F.C. in England and the New York Red Bulls in his hometown. Conor is the first American in his family as the proud son of two immigrant parents; his dad is from Cork, Ireland, while his mom is from Kent, England.
