Tarrah Gibbons joined the CNYCentral team in January of 2018. After a year as a reporter in Kearney, Nebraska at NTV news, she is very excited to be back in her home state New York.
Tarrah was born and raised in Queens, New York. During her college years she moved to Chicago where she attended Columbia College Chicago majoring in broadcast journalism. Throughout her career at Columbia College, Tarrah was nominated for a Student Emmy for The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the Chicago/Midwest chapter. Tarrah also produced, anchored and reported on Columbia College’s live newscast.
While in Nebraska, Tarrah and her team at NTV News covered everything from agriculture, to things happening at the capitol in Lincoln, Nebraska, rushing to breaking news and checking out local events happening throughout different communities.
One of her favorite assignments has to be covering the last day of the Nebraska legislative session where she spoke to Governor Pete Ricketts and several senators about how the budget plan affected many throughout the state.
Despite the cold and snowy weather, Tarrah is excited to be closer to her family and friends. When she’s not working you can find her going to different museums, exercising and exploring Central New York.
