Canine Carnival, the largest animal rescue event in the northeast, is coming to Syracuse Sept. 15.
PMAWF was formed in memory of Wayne Mahar's mother, Priscilla Mahar after her passing in 2007. Priscilla was an animal lover, and as a single Mom, her only companionship for many years was a dog or cat. "These monies are so greatly needed by the many animal rescue organizations across upstate NY, and everywhere, who do the hard work, day in and day out, of caring for our animal friends while trying to find them good homes," Wayne said.
Wayne Mahar and the Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation (PMAWF) donated another $42,000 to central New York animal rescue organizations recently. This brings total donations over the past eight years to nearly $ 230,000.
This year's Canine Carnival is on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Jamesville Beach Park rain or shine and admission is free.
